Ed and myself arrived in Ypsilanti, Michigan safe and sound, after a delay in Chicago. The joys of traveling during an extremely busy season. O'Hare was a zoo, but we took it all in stride!
We were excited to be with Duane, Karen & family here, as well Teilann & Byron joining us from Toronto. the weather is not frightful, but rather a very green Christmas and fine temps, very unusual for these parts in Michigan!
We are all thankful for family, health, Blessings in our lives. Remembering the Baby in the Manger. On Christmas Eve, I went with Karen, & the girls to deliver cookies the girls had made to their local fire-department, and the Police station, thanking them for their service to Serve and Protect.
After a delicious dinner prepared by Duane, with Karen being the sous chef, in their beautiful kitchen, the hub around here, we were treated to a mini concert from the grand-kids. Games of course later. Karen is an awesome party planner, so everything ran smoothly with all the comings and goings through the days. Karen makes the most beautiful cakes fit for a King, and made a special cake for Ed! She had the girls organized while hundreds of cookies were prepared!
Christmas day was up early, to open gifts, and laugh and play. Duane prepared the traditional turkey dinner, with side dishes made by Karen. We ate early, as Teilann & Byron had to drive back to Toronto, with Byron having a hockey game on Boxing day.
