| Beautiful cumulous clouds |
Several days ago, I spotted a beautiful formation of cumulous clouds, a low level cloud, above our home. As I love clouds and what they can mean: Usually this type of cloud means rain, thunderstorms, instability. If these form into cumulonimbus clouds, and look like towers, will grow into storm clouds and they can produce heavy rain, lightning, severe winds, hail, and tornadoes! I like to think of them as floating cotton, puffy and often I see so many shapes and imagine scenes within these clouds! Of course where we live, we do not have to worry too much! If I would see this on the prairies I would be watching more closely! I well recall many times when we lived in MB what could and did happen.
I recall one time as a child, we were down in the valley south of our place in Manitou, I believe we were at the Keen's...and suddenly the skies grew dark, and dad told us to hurry and get in the car to get home. When we got home, we ran into the basement, dad ran to the barns...well after coming up and look outside, there was minimal damage, bales thrown all over, perhaps a few shingles missing, not sure on what the total damage was. It was scary to see...another time when we lived in Morden, I was with the kids at soccer, it was extremely hot, the sky was getting dark and suddenly just like that, it got so still...well, as all the parents grabbed our kids and drove home. All that happened was rain, hail, and wind. One other scary moment, when I was still in bed around 9ish, in the morning, due to working a late eve. shift, all of a sudden I was awakened by the loudest crack of thunder I had ever heard...I jumped out of bed, ran to the kitchen, and Ed was standing looking out the kitchen window, I could see what was coming down...Ed told me to come downstairs and listen to something. ( he did not want to alarm me and scare me!) Well, he opened the little window, and it sounded like a freight train coming! Oh my....well a tornado had touched down somewhere...but we were spared! Did it ever storm!
Thus you can tell I love the clouds and weather, and enjoyed science in school, and recall learning about clouds! Perhaps I should have been a meteorologist!

A few days ago, while at our local nursery, we had an unexpected surprise to see a sign, " birds nesting. caution"
